MoMA Calendar Sketches and Out-Takes

To get to the very simple design solution of the 2012 MoMA Appointment Calendar, I did a lot of sketching and experimenting, musing on the concepts of art, birds, and time. I also proposed using art from the collection used in the interior pages.

At first, I mused on the concepts of modern art, birds, and time.

In some drafts, I incorporated art from the MoMA collection used on the interior pages.

I also proposed a colored plastic overlay, with die-cut "2012". The MoMA logo is screen printed on the plastic.
